Systems Administrator

Brewster Home Fashions - a leader in the home decor industry -- is seeking a Systems Administrator to lead Brewster’s Information Technology department.

As a Systems Administrator with Brewster, you will be responsible for a broad scope of the technology needs of our company, acting as a leader in the planning and implementation of technology strategies, policies, and procedures. The ideal candidate will work proactively to resolve technical issues and anticipate the technical needs of the organization. You will support on-site and remote operations, which includes level 2 support of remote warehouses and sales field staff, as well as advise our sister company in the UK on technical matters.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the maintenance and deployment of existing and new applications
  • Conduct research and provide recommendations on technologies applicable to operational efficiency and business needs
  • Mentoring the junior IT staff to resolve challenging issues effectively and ensure a positive user experience
  • Reduce operational bottlenecks with regards to IT Administration through automation and advancements in technology
  • Regularly review and identify new technologies that will help improve current infrastructure and allow the company to perform at a higher level overall
  • Leading security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes following the company’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies
  • Monitor and test system performance; prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports

Experience and Skills

  • 7 to 10 years of information systems experience, including leadings systems analysis and maintenance of hardware and software services
  • Proven experience with project management to deploy solutions in cooperation with non-IT teams
  • Strong knowledge and experience managing Office365/Azure and Windows (Active Directory)
  • Managing Windows and CUPS print servers and familiarity with cloud printing services (e.g. Print Node)
  • Experience managing Windows 10, Mac OSX, Windows servers with GPOs and Automations
  • Comfortable with scripting languages such as Python or Powershell
  • Hands-on experience with Linux, Debian, and Ubuntu desktop and server is a strong plus
  • Strong knowledge of VMware administration
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP network fundamentals; Fortinet and Ubiquiti network infrastructure
  • Experience managing Wi-Fi, VPN, network switches, and firewalls
  • Experience managing SANs and Synology NAS devices
  • Experience managing backup and recovery of servers, VMs, and databases
  • Experience managing SSL certificates, AWS Route 53, and Familiarity services
  • Experience in an SAP environment is a plus
  • Experience leading employee training
  • Experience with Connectship/ShipExec/FSMS is a plus
  • Strong documentation skills as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records
