Where brown is seen as dull, cognac is seen as glamorous! This warm, classy hue brings to mind autumnal bliss, where colorful leaves, cozy knits and days spent by the fire all lay at the forefront of our minds. So it’s no surprise that this toasty shade, reminding us of not only a steaming cup of coffee but our favorite pair of leather boots, has won a place on the Fall 2014 Pantone Fashion Color Report.

A perfect pair to so many colors, you might even call it a neutral! It has the ability to make black seem not so harsh, while also being able to bring out the true beauty of a vibrant red without making it too overbearing (as seen above). There are not many colors you can truly say this about, that can work so fluently alongside others while also being able to stand alone brilliantly!

What is seen in fashion can also transition over to the home décor market. From warm leather sofas, stand out headboards, vintage accessories and cultured brown walls, cognac creates an interior that is stylish and chic as well as pleasant and enjoyable to live in. Whether it is the main focus of a room or subtle addition, adding in touch of this feel-good color provides your home with a comfortable living space.

The beauty of Cognac, is that it seems to break all the rules. It not only compliments black, but it looks great with white, even better with color, and yes, it even looks fabulous on its own! This is definitely one color we can get used to!
