Wallpaper Calculator

When calculating how many wallpaper rolls you need for your project, you need the following measurements:

  • Wall Width or Distance Around Room (Feet)
  • Wall Height (Feet)
  • Roll Repeat (Inches)
  • Roll Width (Inches)
  • Roll Length (Feet)

When ordering wallpaper, you also need verify that the "dye lot number" on the rolls are the same for color consistency. Also consider that a pattern's repeat will affect how many rolls you need. The larger the repeat, the more paper you need to match the pattern.

Calculating How Many Double Rolls You Need

Roll Width 15-in or Larger and Roll Repeat Smaller Than 4-in

{Wall Width * Wall Height} / {[(Roll Width / 12) * Roll Length] * .90} = Number of Double Rolls Needed

Roll Width 15-in or Larger and Roll Repeat is 4-in to 13-in

{Wall Width * Wall Height} / {[(Roll Width / 12) * Roll Length] * .85} = Number of Double Rolls Needed

Roll Width 15-in or Larger and Roll Repeat is Larger Than 13-in

{Wall Width * Wall Height} / {[(Roll Width / 12) * Roll Length] * .80} = Number of Double Rolls Needed

Roll Width Smaller Than 15-in

{Wall Width / Roll Length} = Number of Double Rolls Needed

NOTE: The measurements must be in the following units -
